Qualifications
- Outstanding interpersonal skills: This position interfaces directly with students, teachers, other school personnel, parents and the general public. It requires the ability to deal effectively with people - in person and on the telephone - and to work well under pressure. Candidates must be responsible and dependable, self-starters, with good judgment, possess a strong work ethic and be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills: The position requires someone who can handle multiple simultaneous tasks expediently and with accuracy. Attention to details is eminent.
- Superior technical skills: Competence, combining speed and accuracy, in the use of office technology, particularly, Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and E-School. Knowledge of IEP Direct preferred.
- Experience in a school setting preferred, particularly with student information systems.
- Provide administrative support to school nurses, including data entry, filing, and record maintenance.
- Assist in managing student health records using the district's student information system.
- Handle student check-ins and maintain accurate documentation of office visits.
- Coordinate communication with parents, faculty, and staff regarding student health concerns.
- Assist with scheduling student health screenings, immunization compliance, and medical documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
- Perform general office duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing supplies.
- Support emergency response efforts under the direction of school nurses and administration.
- Use of computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments;
- Generates correspondence, memoranda, reports and/or other information of a routine nature; i.e., form letters, pre-formatted documents/forms, etc. using automated systems, and various software applications;
- Maintains an automated office record system for the assigned department by entering and retrieving data on a computer;
- Maintains detailed manual records and files in alphabetic, numeric or chronological order;
- Retrieves data and compiles information from manual and automated files for the preparation of routine reports and correspondence, and to prepare other reports, charts, responses to inquiries, etc., as directed;
- Receives visitors to an office, ascertains their business and directs them to an appropriate staff member or office;
- Operates a variety of office equipment, such as calculator, copier, fax machines, etc.;
- Schedules appointments for professional or field staff or make arrangements for meetings by preparing necessary materials as directed;
- Review applications submitted for accuracy/completeness and process same in accordance with established procedures;
- Other assignments and responsibilities associated with and not limited to the Health Office.
Employment Terms
- Type: 10 month, probationary position
- Hours: 7:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.
- Salary: $37,340-$57,840, benefits in accordance with CSEA contract.
