Assistant Center Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Assistant Center Manager works in conjunction with the Center Manager to carry out the blended Early
Childhood Development Programs utilizing Head Start Performance Standards and NAEYC guidelines as best
practice by serving as a mentor and coach for teaching staff. In the absence of the Center Manager, the Assistant
Center Manager assumes the responsibilities of Manager as appropriate.
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Center Manager assists in managing the daily operations of the center-based program
ensuring that all services are delivered in a comprehensive, coordinated, cost effective manner.

* Serves as a mentor and coach for teaching staff
* Ensures the teaching staff implements the established curriculum and providing training and feedback
to the teaching staff as it relates to developmentally appropriate practices by engaging in documented,
on-going, daily observations
* Assists in the articulation and understanding of the visions, mission and values of Easter Seals North
Georgia
Attendance Standard
* Maintains excellent punctuality and attendance
Communications/Public Relations
* Participates in regular meeting with the Center staff to review policy, procedures and their
implementation
* Participates in monthly assistant manager meetings and staff meetings to ensure the coordination of
services and to ensure that there is regular communication.
* Participates in monthly Parent Meetings, assisting in the facilitation of these meetings and assisting
parents in establishing and achieving program goals as well as committee goals.
* Greets, enrolls, and tours visitors at the center in absence of the Center Manager
Monitoring
• Monitors implementation of established curriculum, classroom management, health and safety, and
record keeping.
Record Keeping
* Assists in the implementation of record keeping, reporting and monitoring reporting systems as it relates to
the Child Care Program’s Policies And Procedures, Child Health, Nutrition and Safety Policy And
Procedures and Family and Community Partnerships.
* Utilizes and monitors technology systems appropriately
Compliance
* Recommends and develops corrective action plans for all non-compliance issues specifically related to but
not limited to the implementation of curriculum, classroom management, health and safety, and record-
keeping.
Learning and Growth
* Participates in all mandatory Easter Seals trainings to include pre-service, in-service and other
educational programs and trainings
* Completes the minimum number of training hours required by Bright From The Start, Georgia Pre-K
and Head Start
Physical Requirements
* The ability to stand for sustained periods of time.

* The ability to walk for sustained periods of time including responding quickly to safety concerns
* The ability to use hands and fingers to feel, operate a computer, and perform picking, pinching and
whole hand or arm handling tasks.

children on their level.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related area and a minimum of one (1) year
experience in the area of Early Childhood Education OR an Associate’s Degree in the field of Early Childhood
Education or related field.
NOTE: Human Resources may perform an equivalency on a case by case basis considering education and/or
experience.
