Stable Aides for MA DCR Patrol Horses - Per Diem Positions
Various Shifts Available between 7am-5pm
Immediate openings for Stable Aids to feed and care for Park Ranger Mounted Unit horses located at the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital in Canton, MA. The Stable Aides are also responsible for maintaining equestrian equipment and barn facilities.
Essential Functions:
- Care, grooming, and maintenance of the park ranger horses to include but not limited to:
- Feeding, watering, exercising park ranger horses
- Mucking, stripping, and maintaining stalls
- Cleaning stalls, adding shavings, cleaning water and feed buckets, sweeping
- Maintaining basic health of horses, including sheath cleaning
- Maintaining stable and surrounding premises, including fence repairs and landscaping
- Maintaining horse equipment by cleaning, stripping, oiling, and performing minor repairs as necessary
Preferred Experience:
- Horse handling experience and knowledge
- Related experience working in an equine setting in a recognized public or private agency
