Full- Time, AmeriCorps Position
37-40 hours per week. General service hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Monday – Friday. Some weekend hours may be necessary.
Easter Seals TN, is pleased to announce it has received an AmeriCorps position, granted through Tennessee’s Community Assistant Corporation (TCAC), AmeriCorps/Community Cares program.
Easter Seals will be looking for qualified applicants to fill the following full-time position of AmeriCorps Technology Coordinator. The full-time position will be under contract with TCAC AmeriCorps from January 13, 2024 to December 26, 2025 for a total of 1700 service hours and will be granted a modest living allowance of $21,000.00, paid out bi-weekly (up to 48 weeks) through TCAC as well as an educational award of $7,395.00 upon completion of program. Educational award can be applied to student loans and/or future education expenses. Additional benefits may include; health insurance, and child care reimbursement.
About TCAC AmeriCorps: The TCAC Community Cares AmeriCorps program is a multi-focus program that addresses important problems our communities of poverty face including helping seniors and people with disabilities live independently; preparing and distributing food for people in need; and providing youth engagement services to disadvantaged youth under 18 years of age. Position Summary: Enhancing Enabling Technology to create more independence, along with supporting the start-up of the Pathways to Independence (MAPs) by assisting identified community members with daily routine through technology.
? Identify, promote, and align community assets, programs, activities, and organizations with Healthy Kingsport’s vision and mission.
- Serve as the secondary liaison responsible for coordination between the community assets, programs, activities, and organizations and Healthy Kingsport. This coordination may take a variety of forms and require various levels of engagement. The secondary liaison will assist the program coordinator in the planning, development, and creation of an annual community-wide walking event targeted at raising awareness of the importance around physical activity and good nutrition. Assist project managing the walk will involve all aspects of event planning, including route design, coordination with various City of Kingsport departments, sponsor and participant recruitment, community engagement, advertising and publicity across mass media, etc.

- All AmeriCorps positions require, at minimum, that our members be at least 17 years of age at the start of service, have completed high school or received a GED.
Site Preference:
- It is preferred that the person in this position possess an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or have 3 years of relevant work experience in the field of health and wellness or a related field.
Position Expectation & Requirements:
TCAC Minimum AmeriCorps Expectations
- All TCAC AmeriCorps members must complete and be enrolled into TCAC’s onboarding process prior to serving at site location.
- TCAC AmeriCorps positions require attendance of an orientation at the start of service, midyear retreat, service days, and other all-corps activities.
- All members must undergo TCAC AmeriCorps background screening process.
- Serve in your contracted position schedule.
- Position requires that members be able to get to and from their service site reliably and in a timely manner.
- Members are required to log and collect data for the overall TCAC AmeriCorps program.
- Members must wear AmeriCorps branded uniform during service hours.
