Job Summary And Qualifications
As Laboratory Clinical Coordinator of Microbiology at our facility you will have the opportunity to lead a highly functioning team that supports many different departments throughout the hospital and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:
- You will be responsible for the overall technical and administrative operation of the laboratory Microbiology department.
- You will direct daily operations including decision-making, response to problems, identifying issues and errors, and taking corrective action.
- You will monitor, maintain, and control departmental supply inventory and expense and assist with the development of operating and capital budgets.
- You will be responsible for the development and retention of technical staff and will contribute to good employee relationships and provide for staff development.
- You will develop shift assignments to ensure proper coverage of the department and ensure the maximum efficiency in the use of personnel.
- You will ensure that competency testing is current and documented for personnel and conduct coaching, training, and counseling as necessary.
- You will be responsible for the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Certified by ASCP, HEW, HHS, or AMT in all clinical areas
- 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
- BS in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related sciences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written.
- Strong problem solving, management, prioritization, and leadership skills necessary.
