PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF FUNCTION
The Product Manager oversees all aspects related to the development and maintenance of Product Lines offered by the company and the reporting responsibility to upper management.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Coordinates the development of product line offering for market leadership position. Develops Product Mangers for each product group and support their needs in defining product line content and market positioning. New product opportunities, market pricing strategies, competitive analysis, vendor relations, sales support and marketing information will be defined by product management. Product development will be a functional area assuring that product offerings are competitive, aligned with market needs, and provide for maximum sales opportunities. Prepares performance reports for each product category and make specific recommendations for line content and changes. The team will introduce and maintain a product offering that generates revenue and profit in compliance with company standards. Prepares spreadsheets, databases and presentations for executive review, sales meetings, and customer training. Communication between internal departments and external field sales and customers. Attendance at industry events, trade show and training seminars will be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Experience in managing and leading multiple team members. Leadership skills. Organization and planning skills in service of prioritization, shifting business needs, task delegation, coordination with other departments as needed. Strong conceptual skills, superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team. Excellent communication skills. General automotive mechanical skills are a plus. Proficiency Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to handle competing priorities and shift focus as dictated by changing business needs. Must have STRONG Excel knowledge.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent related experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Aftermarket Product Knowledge.
