The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional collaborative working to enhance STEM education in Eastern Oregon, focusing on breaking barriers and creating inclusive opportunities for P-12 students and educators. Supported by the Oregon Department of Education, GO STEM provides engaging learning experiences to promote educational success.
The Technology Workforce Exploration Educator is a key role within GO STEM, responsible for designing and implementing high-quality STEM and career-connected learning experiences, particularly in technology. This educator works closely with partners and staff to deliver programming, using the GO STEM Mobile Maker Lab to bring STEM initiatives to schools and communities across seven counties.

The position, funded through the Future Ready Oregon Grant, runs through June 2026 and requires strong independent judgment, creativity, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
The Technology Workforce Exploration Educator develops curriculum around technology careers, artificial intelligence, and provides professional development for educators.
The position, funded through the Future Ready Oregon Grant, runs through June 2026 and requires strong independent judgment, creativity, and communication skills.
- Prepare and develop AI curriculum for K-12 students and educators tailored to community, school, and regional needs as well as interests of partners,
- Gather relevant materials and supplies related to curricular requests of the partner,
- Schedule visits to schools, communities, and other partners across the GO STEM Region,
- Maintain materials and supplies related to the GO STEM Lending Library and Mobile Maker Lab,
- Exercise and implement regularly scheduled and sound maintenance practices according to vehicle maintenance schedule and unforeseen road hazards, following all EOU motor pool requirements,
- Safely transport materials and fellow staff members, follow all applicable traffic laws, implement courteous driving practices,
- Positively represent the partnership between EOU, GO STEM, and the numerous Mobile Maker Lab project team and partners,
- Provide AI educational support for GO STEM Mobile Maker Lab efforts and team, including:
- Technology, AI, and STEM career opportunities (CCL/WBL/internships connections),
- K-12 AI and STEM education program development and delivery,
- Curriculum and Syllabi development for AI utilization for educators and students,
- Professional development opportunities to assist educators to develop hyper-focused curriculum and lessons,
- Direct program delivery in-person across the GO STEM region.
- Maintain relationships and engages with administrators, educators, students, community members, and other stakeholders related to this project, the Mobile Maker Lab team, and GO STEM broadly,
- Collect, manage, and report data to funders, including extensive program participant data,
- Work with the Director of Outreach and Engagement and other Hub staff to develop project workload for related technology and AI educational programs across the GO STEM Hub region for programs and initiatives,
- Assess outreach programs and tracks program engagements, material utilization, and participation numbers,
- Ensure compliance with GO STEM Hub & EOU vision and mission, Oregon’s Equity Lens, and the Oregon STEM Education Plan,
- Collaborate across sectors, the University, Statewide STEM Hub Network, and general public to promote the GO STEM Hub, STEM education and career opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience leading and teaching K-12 STEM education in traditional or non-traditional settings, with a focus on middle and high school. Experience should include engaging diverse audiences such as teachers, school staff, and administrators. Experience with career nights, college days, and establishing university relationships is preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience managing educational outreach, community engagement, or organizational systems. Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a broad outreach team, especially with K-12 schools and universities for career pathway exploration.
- Three (3) years of experience developing and delivering original curriculum for school-aged learners. This includes program creation, knowledge of program development and coordination, and integration of technology into learning. The ability to relate to rural populations and engage diverse groups is essential.
- Requires travel about 75% of the time, occassionally more.
- Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas.
- Teaching licensure (current or previous) is required.
- Three (3) years of extensive background in technology aspects of education, teaching and learning, and career alignment
- Three (3) years leadership skills and program/curriculum development in STEM
- Three (3) years career Connected Learning and/or Work-based Learning experience focused in technology among middle and high school youth engagement.
