What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Referral Coordinator position at Eastern Plains Medical Clinic of Calhan?
Rapidly growing Rural Health Clinic is looking for an exceptional registered or certified medical assistant to work full-time in our busy, growing practice. We provide all levels of family medicine to include ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Must be able to multi-task and keep up with a fast-paced demanding work environment while providing our patients with excellent customer service and care.
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), especially eClinicalWorks is beneficial.
The duties for this position will include:
Rooming patients and gathering necessary vitals in a timely fashion.
Obtaining medical histories from patients.
Chart preparation for upcoming patient appointments.
Injections/Vaccinations as ordered by the provider.
Prep and/or assist in procedures.
Initiate and follow-up of outgoing specialty referrals for patients.
Handling patient phone calls.

Qualifications
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant
- Proficiency in medical administrative support and patient care
- Basic life support certification
- Experience with EHR systems and medical terminology
- Ability to perform intake procedures and record vital signs accurately
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably with dermatology or urgent care exposure
