Job Summary:
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Assistant Director for Business Operations
The Assistant Director for Business Operations is a full-time, 12-month, professional and, reports directly to the Director of HRL. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the business operations of Housing and Residential Life. Specific areas of responsibility include, assignments, communication coordination, opening and closing, managing contract issues (exceptions and appeals), assessment and is the trainer for our housing management system. The Assistant Director will work in collaboration with the residential life staff to implement processes that are efficient and student centered. This position will participate in a rotational (every 3-4 weeks) 24-hour on-call Emergency/Duty Coverage for after-hours emergencies and ensure appropriate follow-up and communication.

Required Qualifications:
- This position requires a Bachelors Degree.
- Three (3) years progressively responsible professional experience working in campus housing, hospitality management, business operations, or other comparable related experience.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and personnel management skills
- Demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Student Affairs, Business Administration or related field
- Experience in student housing/higher education administration, with an emphasis in auxiliary operations, housing services, and business operations.
- Knowledge of StarRez and Banner
- Marketing and Social Media experience
- Experience implementing excellent customer service

Responsibility / Duty: Housing Operations
- Manage the billing/accounting, customer service, room assignments, housing contract, and other administrative functions for all on-campus housing.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with all agreements, leases, and contracts pertaining to Housing and Residential Life. Examples include: cable TV, internet, vendor agreements, housing management system (Currently STAR REZ), etc.
- Manage all permissions to the housing management system.
- Interpret University policies, departmental policies, and procedures for employees, students, parents, and the University Community.
- Design administrative procedures that will promote excellent customer service, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Coordinate all elements of "opening and closing." (Marketing, volunteers, communication, etc).
- Act as departments primary custodian of records, including electronic and hard copy.
- Oversee the Housing Exceptions Committee and Contract Appeals Committee and all communication to students related to these two committees.
- Ensure that department is maximizing all features of its housing management software.
- Oversee summer housing and early arrivals.

- Manage Housing and Residential Life website.
- Facilitate texting campaigns for prospective students.
- Facilitate distribution of all marketing in collaboration with Admissions and MarCom which includes print, videos, web, and social media.
- Assist in developing and implement annual marketing and communications plan in collaboration with Admissions and MarCom.
- Organize HRLs participation in relevant admission recruiting events.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing and opportunities for enhancement.

- Develop and assess student satisfaction with our business processes.
- Assist in planning for occupancy configurations for each academic year.
- Develop and update reports through housing management system related to occupancy, demographic, academic successes, etc.
- Manage and monitor operations budget.
- Manage budgets and follow department and university purchasing guidelines.

- Represent the department at university meetings and functions.
- Serve on Departmental or University Committees as assigned.

- This position requires meetings and events after hours and on weekends.

Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $55,195 (minimum) up to $58,000. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience and skills.
