Housing Coordinator - Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Housing Program includes pre-purchase counseling and down payment assistance to first-time, low-income families towards the purchase of a home in Montgomery County.

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Coordinator will assist the Administrator of the Montgomery County Housing Program in tracking client applications from initial intake to home purchase through e-mail, phone and direct one-on-one communication with clients, lenders, realtors and builders. The project coordinator will work closely with our Financial Team and Navigation Team making sure the clients needs are met while following all of Easter Seals Greater Houston guidelines and mission statement. Must be comfortable with and able to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process applications received via e-mail and one-on-one individual counseling sessions
  • Collect all required lender/client documentation per checklist
  • Communicate with client/lender/realtor regarding status of file
  • Input client data into Counselor Max and maintain schedule of prospective closings
  • Review and assemble final closing file for submission
  • Maintain spreadsheet of data on client and property
  • Complete all HUD and UW reports
• Provide pre-purchase financial counseling
  • Pull credit and analyze credit histories
  • Calculate income, assets and debts of applicants
  • Track client goals of debt reduction, mortgage qualification

EXPERTISE

Willingness to acquire knowledge in:

• Montgomery County Down Payment Assistance program guidelines
• HUD's Home Investment Partnership program
• Overview of state and local down payment assistance programs
• General understanding of mortgage products, FHA, VA, USDA

SCHEDULE

• Full-time hybrid position with some flexibility in hours, but must be available to respond as needed

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Financial counseling/coaching
• Mortgage lending
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook and data base programs
• HUD certified Homebuyers Education Counselor
