Job Description

 

POSITION:               Development Coordinator 

DEPARTMENT:        Growth

HOURS:             8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, evenings and weekends as required. Work is in-person, includes in-office work and outside meetings/events.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Montgomery County Food Bank seeks a professional Development Coordinator to serve as a member of the Growth team to advance the organization’s mission of Uniting the Community to Fight Hunger throughout the greater Montgomery County Area. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Assist in maintaining fundraising and donor data in donor management system, including queries and reporting.

·      Helping to prepare development reports for leadership and the board of directors.

·      Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure development funds are reconciled.

·      Assist in donor communications process, including letters and calls.

·      Communicate and coordinate with other MCFB personnel regarding donations and reporting.

·      Participating in and managing special events.

·      May assist and identify, recruit, manage and communicate with volunteers dedicated to specific fundraising efforts. 

·      Participate in development of annual reports, annual campaign materials, and other collateral materials.

·      In collaboration with Marketing and Communications Manager, assist in content preparation for social media posts, newsletter articles and direct mail appeals.

·      Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Proficient Office 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Photoshop skills preferred
  • Donor software programs, Blackbaud – Raisers Edge preferred

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years of development experience in donor relations and/or events preferred.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel: Yes  

If yes, up to 20% of the time in Montgomery County.
