As the Development Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of fostering and expanding strategic corporate and community relationships. You’ll lead efforts to engage partners through sponsorships, volunteerism, and philanthropy, all while helping to further the mission and values of ESMA.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively build and manage a diverse portfolio of both existing and prospective corporate and community partners.
- Work with multiple departments to create successful corporate investment proposals for a wide array of programmatic innovations and priorities, events, and other funding needs.
- Solicit corporate sponsorships for signature events and special campaigns.
- Schedule and oversee corporate volunteer days at ESMA locations (i.e. campus in Bridgewater).
- Create donor engagement plans to ensure stewardship efforts align and foster collaborated meaningful connections with corporate partners.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the Department’s annual plan that focuses on maintaining, expanding and enhancing corporate / community partnerships in support of a cross-section of programs, special projects, events, and capital support.
- Promote ongoing stewardship with corporate partners through customized communication and impact reports and proactively identify cultivation opportunities within portfolio.
- Responsible for incoming inquiries from prospective corporate partners and manage a pipeline of both prospective and active funders; serve as primary contact for funding representatives in portfolio.
- Arrange and conduct site visits and ensure timely, accurate and strategic follow-up with corporate investors and prospective supporters.
- Represent the organization at various networking events (chamber of commerce meetings, conferences, etc.).
- Drive corporate fundraising strategies and opportunities from vision and metrics to dollars raised and impact achieved.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably managing fundraising efforts in a multifaceted, nonprofit organization
- Excellent track record of leading collaborative efforts with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Comfortable engaging in conversations in-person, virtual and via telephone
- Time management skills a must
- Self-starter with strong organizational, communication/presentation and customer service skills; ability to interact with and relate well to others and possess the ability to work independently.
- Experience soliciting and closing corporate gifts at the 6-figure level
- Ability to develop and articulate an aspirational philanthropic vision and strategy with realistic, measurable goals
- Demonstrated ability to work within an organization emphasizing collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence
- Excellent track record of leading collaborative efforts with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent project development and management skills
- Experience in interpreting and applying data analytics
- Exceptional presentation skills
- Proficient computer skills with the capability to master new software applications and technologies
