The Summer Programs Job Coach assists high school students with disabilities with employment supports. This position utilizes individualized techniques and teaching strategies to support individuals on the job. Ensures supports provided meet organizational guidelines, funder requirements and accreditation standards.
Essential Functions:
- Promotes building work-related skills and independence on the job.
- Provides training, coaching, feedback and tools for individualized supports including building natural supports in the work environment.
- Assesses job site appropriateness, natural supports, and work culture to ensure a good fit between individuals and organizations.
- Reviews service plans and individual progress for satisfaction of services and quality assurance.
- Completes accurate log notes and data collection which reflect progress on plan goals.
- Participates in staff meetings, departmental trainings for on-going growth and development.
Position Competencies:
- Knowledge of disabilities including behavior supports and accommodations for individuals with disabilities in the work environment.
- Maintains professional communication with individuals, funders, families, employers and other professionals.
- Knowledge of effective teaching and training techniques in order to build individual skills and provide supports.
- Able to work independently on the job when providing supports.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Qualifications:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in human services or business-related field preferred.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Experience working in supported employment preferred.
Summer work program will begin in mid to late May with online/in person trainings.
1st session runs from May 27th -July 3rd. Hours include 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and/or 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
2nd session runs from July 7th - August 15th. Hours include 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Salary : $20 - $23
