Easterseals PORT Health, one of the largest non-profit service providers in North Carolina, is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our EMPOWER team. Our Jacksonville program has a full-time position (M-F 9am-5:00pm). (Monday-Friday) 8:00am-5:00pm
What You’ll Do
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting with office tasks for the Empower programs. They are expected to maintain a positive, clean, and safe environment and assist in program areas as time allows. This position reports to the assigned Empower Program Manager.
- Answers phone calls and assists callers as appropriate.
- Assists with check-in and check-out of participants and staff.
- Prepares and files billing and paperwork according to program requirements, accurately and within designated time lines.
- Completes invoicing, collection of payments, manual accruals, depositing of monies, and other program-related finance/billing tasks.
- Prepares for and actively participates in staff onboarding as requested.
- Attends all staff meetings.
- Completes required training within prescribed timeframes.
- Follows all Easterseals PORT Health and program policies, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality, manages use of PTO time (if applicable), and follows all policies and procedures regarding time off.
- Must demonstrate Easterseals PORT Health valued behaviors of Accountability, Commitment, and Caring as appropriate to the position.

What We’re Looking For

- You must be at least 18 or older
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- One or more years of college or experience is preferred
- Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must possess the visual acuity to develop written correspondence and determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Value the role recreation plays in personal development
- Have the ability to assist campers with daily activities as needed (e.g., transferring in/out of wheelchairs, bathing, feeding, dressing)
- Be able to bend and lift 30 pounds and possess the physical ability to perform the position duties
