At Easterseals PORT Health, we’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Community Support Team Co- Occurring Disorder Specialist to join our team in Mt. Airy. As a valued member of our collaborative and supportive team, you will work together to transform the lives of individuals by providing a comprehensive range of services that treat the whole person and empower patients to find their way forward. The teams at Easterseals PORT Health care directly for our clients in the community, including visits to clients living in their own homes.
What You’ll Do
As a Co-Occurring Disorder Specialist in the Community Support Team (CST), you will provide services to individuals who have a mental health or substance use disorder and meet the two life domains. As a Co-Occurring Disorder Specialist, you will also conduct comprehensive substance abuse assessments, use outreach and motivational interviewing techniques to work with individuals in earlier stages of change readiness, facilitate the Person-Centered Planning process, provide structured face-to-face interventions, and provide psychosocial rehabilitative interventions and case coordination.

This full-time position offers a Monday- Friday flexible nontraditional schedule and will serve the Mt. Airy area. This position is community based. What We’re Looking For
To join our team as a CST Co-Occurring Disorder Specialist you must be prepared to carry out a full range of treatment functions wherever and whenever needed in a community setting, be able to work independently, be adept at problem solving and de-escalation in times of crisis. Participation in the crisis phone rotation. We also require:
- A human services degree is preferred.
- Must be certified as a CCS, LCAS, LCASA, CSAC or CADC.
- Able to be credentialed as a Mental Health Qualified Professional
- Certification as a medical administrative technician or equivalent preferred.
- A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and a good driving record
- Demonstrate high moral and ethical character, and be free of any substantiated charges of abuse or neglect on the NC Healthcare Registry
