Position Summary: Building Value is a social enterprise powered by Easterseals Redwood whose mission is to accelerate careers in construction for people facing economic and employment challenges. Through our training program, we deconstruct/demolish homes and offices to salvage building materials, fixtures, and appliances for sale to the public at our retail store in Northside.
The Business Development Manager is a sales position, responsible for lead generation, estimates, and closing sales contracts for our deconstruction/construction-adjacent services and our commercial and bulk reclaimed building materials. This position will report to the Director of Building Value and will be part of an experienced, collaborative management team. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact on the sales growth and strategy of the business, and on the lives of the individuals we serve.
Essential and Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director to develop a sales strategy to grow Building Value revenue from deconstruction, construction-adjacent services, and commercial bulk material sales that is in line with the business’s strategic plan.
- Execute the sales strategy to consistently achieve established sales targets.
- Take the lead in all aspects of the sales process, including lead generation & prospecting, sales calls & meetings, proposal/bid submission, closing the sale, and customer relationship management.
- Work closely with the Deconstruction, Retail, and Administrative Managers to drive and secure new business.
- Meticulously maintain documentation in CRM (Salesforce) to track retail acquisition partners and deconstruction leads through the sales process.
- Build new clients and business partnerships and expand existing relationships with long-term clients.
- Deliver targeted presentations on Building Value service offerings to municipalities and community groups.
- Participate in industry associations and networking opportunities to keep abreast of industry trends and opportunities.
