What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional - Community Day Program position at Easterseals?
The Community Day Services Program provides various programs to enhance each individual’s adaptive living skills, economic self-sufficiency, overall level of independence and integration into the community.
We are currently seeking DSPs to join the Community Day Services Program.
Hours are Monday - Friday 9am to 3pm (paid lunch break)!! No weekends or evenings.
Responsibilities:
- The individual will be responsible for implementing methods of instruction consistent with current skills and performance curriculums..
- Adapts workstations to meet the needs of the consumers: maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Prepares required documentation
- Provides crisis counseling and emergency interventions to consumers as needed.
- Responsible for transporting clients in a clinic van
- Monitors and records operating conditions of vehicle daily and reports mechanical problems to the Supervisor immediately
- While transporting clients, complies to route, safety, and other transportation procedures
- Tracks and records client transportation and other information as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- CPR and First Aide Certification preferred not required
- Work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Hourly Rate: $18.50
