What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aspire GED Instructor-Corrections position at Eastland Fairfield Career and Technical Schools?
Successful applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher; Have or be able to secure required licensure/certification from the Ohio Department of Education; Have a sound understanding of curriculum development techniques and individualized learning; Experience with disadvantaged adults and a willingness to relate to adults with limited reading, math and writing skills is preferred; Must successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
Duties include assessing students upon entrance to the program, developing lesson plans, instructing students using a variety of materials and methods in the areas of math, language arts, science and/or social studies. Must have computer skills needed to maintain student records and produce monthly reports in Excel or Access programs. Attendance at all staff meetings is required.
This role will assist the full time GED Instructor on various functions such as teaching, classroom management, data entry and testing at one of our male prisons.
Classes are taught Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
8am-1pm
