POSITION: Bioscience Instructor, Satellite Program at Gahanna Lincoln High School
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Satellite Programs
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until position is filled
STARTING DATE: August 1, 2025
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants must be able to secure certification/license as a career/technical instructor; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biotechnology, bioscience, molecular biology, or a related field; Strong laboratory skills including knowledge of laboratory safety procedures; Biotechnical Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) credential or willingness to obtain (preferred); Additional certifications relevant to bioscience or biotechnology preferred; Positive experience working with business partners and young adults is beneficial; Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work with business/industry and post-secondary institutions required; Successfully pass BCI/FBI background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction in junior and senior labs/classrooms that prepare students for a career in the field. Job responsibilities include providing opportunities for prospective students to explore this career path. Teacher must also coordinate all aspects of the program with an advisory committee. Lab instruction also includes promotion of student involvement in Career Technical Student Organizations. Assist students in work-based learning experiences and future employment opportunities in cooperation with local facilities; Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-related activities.
SALARY: Placement on Certificated/Licensed Teacher salary schedule
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time certified position; 186-day calendar; Benefit-eligible position
