POSITION: Construction Technologies Instructor
REPORTS TO: Principal, Fairfield Career Center
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until position is filled
STARTING DATE: August 1, 2025
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants must be able to secure certification/license as a career/technical instructor; 5 years of full-time related work experience in Construction Technologies field; Must be a Certified Electrician; Industry credentials in the field of Electrical Trades; Positive experience working with young adults is beneficial; Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools, safety (OSHA), construction drawings, masonry, electrical and plumbing materials, methods, and equipment; Knowledge of blueprint reading; Knowledge of current advancements in technology, safety, applicable code requirements and correct construction practices; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work with business/industry and post-secondary institutions required; Successfully pass BCI/FBI background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction in junior and senior labs/classrooms that prepare students for a career in the field; Provide opportunities for prospective students to explore this career path; Coordinate all aspects of the program with an advisory committee; Promote student involvement in Career Technical Student Organizations; Assist students in work-based learning experiences and future employment opportunities in cooperation with local facilities; Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-related activities.
SALARY: Placement on Certificated/Licensed Teacher salary schedule
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time certified position; 186-day calendar; Benefit-eligible position
