POSITION: Electrical Instructor, Satellite Program at Teays Valley High School REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Satellite Programs APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until position is filled STARTING DATE: August 1, 2025 QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants must be able to secure certification/license as a career/technical instructor [CW 17100] (Bachelor’s degree or higher in the subject area (Electrical Trades, Electrical Engineering, or similar field preferred); 5 years of related work experience; must be a Certified Electrician; Industry credentials in the field of Electrical Trades; positive experience working with business partners and young adults is beneficial. Candidates should have knowledge and experience with hand and power tools, safety (OSHA), construction drawings, National Electrical Code, basic circuits and electrical theory, and residential, commercial, and industrial electric. Applicants should also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with business/industry and post-secondary institutions required and successfully pass BCI/FBI background check. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction in junior and senior labs/classrooms that prepare students for a career in the field. Job responsibilities include providing opportunities for prospective students to explore this career path. Teacher must also coordinate all aspects of the program with an advisory committee. Lab instruction also includes promotion of student involvement in Career Technical Student Organizations. Assist students in work-based learning experiences and future employment opportunities in cooperation with local facilities; Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-related activities.
