Responsibilities
The OND Computer Specialist is a key member of the Operations Support team and is responsible for ensuring the resources supporting Operations and Engineering personnel are functional and continually improving within their area of responsibility. This role requires strong computer skills, a level of initiative to work independently on long term project goals, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders. The OND Computer Specialist plays a critical role in support of Essential Operating Disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Production Technologist, department director, managers, operators, and engineers.
- Perform a variety of technical duties in the Olefins North areas.
- Support Manufacturing Excellence and Essential Operating Discipline initiatives, including alarm rationalization, eLogbook, HMI, procedure workflows, and DCS screen development.
- Serve as a key resource for DCS configuration, programming, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot process control software and hardware.
- Work with DCS support groups to implement system changes.
- Maintain configurations and coordinate improvements on OSI PI data historian.
- Author and maintain DCS procedures.
- Ensure availability of handheld terminals and computer equipment.
- Utilize strong communication skills for information gathering and reporting.
- Work primarily indoors in office and conference room settings.
