Accounts Payable Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
· Review, verify, and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies.
· Ensure all invoices are accurately matched to purchase orders and receiving documents.
· Maintain job costing records, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses against project budgets.
· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Process due invoices for payments.
· Prepare and maintain monthly accounts payable reconciliation.
· Maintain strong relationships with vendors and respond to inquiries regarding payments and account status.
· Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
· Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or financial roles.
· Strong understanding of job costing principles and practices is a plus.
· Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, and Bill.com and/or Cashflow360) is a huge plus.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience in construction or project-based industries is a plus.
· Familiarity with ERP systems.
