Eastridge Workforce Solutions is a leading provider of workforce management solutions, committed to connecting skilled professionals with meaningful career opportunities. We are looking for an Accounting Specialist for a nonprofit organization providing childcare and youth services.
Key Responsibilities
- Record, reconcile, and monitor family fees and accounts for childcare, infant care, and preschool programs.
- Manage and track third-party subsidized payments, including attendance sheets, payment schedules, and invoices.
- Determine and calculate eligible discounts, including reduced fees, multiple enrollments, and staff discounts.
- Record, reconcile, and monitor contract and grant revenues.
- Process and record all incoming payments, including cash, checks, credit cards, and electronic transactions.
- Perform cash management duties, including account reconciliation, bank deposits, and daily monitoring of bank activity.
- Follow up with parents on payment schedules and past-due accounts to ensure timely collections.
- Assist with audit requirements, document management, and special projects as needed.
- Maintain compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred; a minimum of three years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- Experience: Strong mathematical skills with experience handling a high volume of accounts receivable.
- Preferred: Experience in nonprofit accounting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and Outlook.
- Other Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities.
- Communication: Strong follow-up and customer service skills for working with parents, staff, and third-party administrators.
- Transportation: Access to reliable transportation required.
Work Environment
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility for after-hours or weekend work during high-volume periods.
- Hybrid Work: This position may be eligible for a limited hybrid work schedule.
