The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment and possess strong attention to detail and technical skills.
Job Title: Grinder
Status: Full-Time, 1st Shift, Flexible Start Time
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Load workpieces onto machines, ensuring proper alignment, and use grinding wheels to shape and smooth surfaces following blueprints or instructions
- Operate and potentially set up various types of precision grinding machines such as surface, external, internal, or centerless for production work with basic recessing and contour requirements
- Set up machines for standard operations, adjusting speeds and settings as needed
- Select appropriate wheels for materials and finish requirements
- Work with close tolerances and manage challenging setups for irregularly shaped parts
- Inspect workpieces for defects to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with cylindrical or centerless grinding required
- Proficient in using standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Strong math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Physical requirements: Regularly talk or hear, frequently sit, use hands for handling objects or controls, and reach with arms. Occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Ability to walk or stand on concrete for up to 4 hours at a time and lift 50 pounds without assistance
- Vision abilities: Close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
