We are seeking a Material Control Technician for a well-established manufacturing company in Acton, MA. This is a contract position with a 3rd shift schedule and a pay rate of $22.00 per hour.
Position Overview
The Material Control Technician is responsible for managing material inventory, ensuring accurate issuance and delivery for production, and maintaining compliance with FDA and cGMP guidelines. This role involves both physical and administrative tasks within the Kitting Room.
Shift Schedule
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Schedule may adjust based on business needs)
Key Responsibilities
- Operate material control systems, including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and printers
- Deliver raw materials to Cleanroom cells and replenish inventory efficiently
- Perform accurate ERP (SAP) transactions for material movements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper end-of-shift cleanup
- Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks (training provided)
- Assist with material pre-issuance tasks, such as Silicone Mixture preparation
- Follow all safety policies and participate in risk minimization efforts
- Provide support to warehouse operations, including Shipping & Receiving
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or packaging environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and operate pallet jacks
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a regulated manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP Materials Management or Microsoft Dynamics AX
- Previous experience in material handling, logistics, or the medical device industry
- Forklift operation experience (stand-up or sit-down)
- Familiarity with ergonomic lifting techniques
