We are hiring a Manufacturing Lead to support the Manufacturing Supervisor in coordinating daily department operations with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency. This role involves assigning work, ensuring production deadlines are met, enforcing policies and procedures, and coaching/training team members. Additionally, the Manufacturing Lead will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Design, Quality, and other departments to maintain standardized work methods and best practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment by demonstrating and promoting safe behaviors while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Enforce quality procedures to ensure high standards, utilizing measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Train employees on equipment, processes, and procedures within the department.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee daily work assignments, resolve scheduling conflicts, and allocate resources to meet priorities.
- Support production operations, including troubleshooting, machine setups, and material handling as needed.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering in developing and implementing visual work instructions and process improvements.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions (CARs).
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, plus five years of relevant experience (or equivalent education and experience).
- Proficiency in advanced metrology equipment (height gauges, CMM, comparators, etc.).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (overhead cranes, pallet jacks, forklifts).
- Strong math, reading, and computer skills (MS Office proficiency preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Ability to interpret part prints and apply technical knowledge.
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
