Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Supervisor to join our dynamic metals manufacturing team. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee a team of 13 Quality Inspectors and 2 Quality Technicians, ensuring quality standards are consistently met while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience, deep knowledge of metals manufacturing, and a passion for fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a diverse team of 13 Quality Inspectors and 2 Quality Technicians.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and drive team accountability for achieving quality objectives.
- Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the preparation and review of Certificates of Conformance (COC) to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet specifications.
- Ensure proper use of measuring tools such as calipers, verniers, go/no-go gauges, feeler gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Process Improvement:
- Analyze quality data and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements and operational efficiency.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of inspections, quality reports, and COC records.
- Utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Excel to track and report quality metrics.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all processes and products comply with industry standards, customer specifications, and company policies.
- Provide guidance and training to the team on quality standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a metals manufacturing environment (minimum of 3–5 years).
- Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and documentation, including COC reports.
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, veneers, go/no-go gauges, and feeler gauges.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate diverse teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving quality processes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing process improvements or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
