Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Madison Team. This is a full time on-site position with a schedule of 10 hour days Monday through Thursday, with occasional work on Fridays if needed.
Summary of Position:
The Quality Assurance Manager of Madison is responsible for all Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities of the Madison, Wisconsin production facility. This individual is responsible for maintaining quality staff and infrastructure adequate to meet customer requirements, complying with company operating procedures, and pursuing the quality goals established for the facility. The Quality Assurance Manager, in conjunction with his or her subordinates, is responsible for setting the tone and workplace atmosphere within Quality Department to support RESCO values. The individual in this position needs to have a broad understanding of ISO requirements.
The QA Manager also directly oversees the work of departmental employees, including assigning jobs, maintaining work schedules, and assuring on-time delivery of quality products. The position also supports the existing manufacturing operation as needed (process documentation updates and Lean Initiatives). Responsible for evaluating and maintaining the organizational structure of the Quality department to scale it with the dynamics of the business.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage Test & Inspection
- Determine staffing needs and manage staff performing test, inspection and quality system duties in Madison.
- Manage creation of test setup and verification for all assemblies and harnesses.
- Manage and control final and in-process inspection and inspection records.
- Summarize and report on inspection results on a regular basis, including for Management Review.
Document Control and Compliance
- Update and verify current quality system documentation and manage training to that documentation.
- Manage, update, and verify compliance documentation (REACH, RoHS, UL, etc).
- Review, verify and record documentation required for new drawings and assemblies.
- Manage and control inspection documentation (Internal Inspection Reports, Customer FAIR, etc.).
- Manage and verify adherence to state and local compliance requirements.
Change Control
- Manage internal documentation changes as a result of
- Customer change/ECN I
- Internal improvement/change
Returns, Rework & Corrective Action
- Manage the process of repair and rework of assemblies resulting from
- Customer returns
- Non-conformance at Final Inspection
- The process management includes review of the stated issue, documentation of actions taken, and verification of the completion of the rework/repair actions.
- Create and manage corrective actions according to current procedure,
- Track and update progress of corrective actions issued
- Perform Effectiveness Verification (or ensure that the verification is performed),
- Summarize and report on corrective actions on a regular basis for Management Review.
Quality System Audits
- Manage internal audit program including conducting audits as necessary.
- Summarize and report on Internal Audit results and findings on a regular basis.
- Interface with sales and customer representatives during any second party ISO audits.
- Assist with third party ISO audits of the Madison site.
- Handle regulatory audits (UL, etc.) for the Madison site.
New Product Release
- Participate in the Design Review of new products/projects that will be launched to the production floor.
- Manage New Part ECN process
- Manage the creation of new assembly procedures..
Other responsibilities:
- Works with the Senior Managers and process owners in ensuring that quality system documentation defined is current, and that training to the current documentation is performed and is effective.
- Manages environmental and other compliance documentation to ensure that the documentation accurately reflects the compliance status of the part or parts.
- Manages and controls documentation and evidence for assemblies fabricated and sold with the UL label. Works with the UL auditor during UL compliance audits.
- Manage verification and compliance to state and local regulations as necessary.
- Works with the Production Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive actions taken.
- Works with the VP of Quality and IT Systems, to maintain the Corrective and Preventive Action Reports according to current procedure.
- Provides support during Internal and External Audits.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as directed or required.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- College degree preferred and at least 5 years of experience in quality system administration, particularly with the administration of ISO 9001:2015 compliant systems.
- Must demonstrate the capability to read and understand written procedures and quality specifications, and be able to effectively adapt that knowledge in establishing and maintaining processes which ensure that all procedures. performed within the Company meet RESCO’s defined quality requirements.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be comfortable working with people at all levels internally and externally.
- Must be self-directed and driven to achieve goals.
- Must be able to quickly develop a detailed knowledge of company processes.
- Must conduct themselves professionally with customers, suppliers, and coworkers.
- Experience in cable and electromechanical assemblies industry is preferred.
