Your Role as a Manufacturing Operations Manager: We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead and oversee plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, shipping, and receiving. This role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and a culture of continuous improvement while upholding safety, hygiene, and quality standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and is passionate about developing teams and optimizing performance across all shifts.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Plastics, Industrial, or Chemical.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with thermoforming or extrusion equipment is highly desirable.
- Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, and logistics (shipping and receiving).
- Coordinate daily plant activities through effective planning with departmental managers to meet production
- goals on time and within budget.
- Develop and control operational plans, profit and loss targets, and budget management.
- Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital and operational expenditures, including manpower,
- wages, and salaries.
- Oversee capital asset maintenance and ensure optimal operation of plant equipment.
- Establish, track, and drive performance metrics for production output and quality standards.
- Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight costs, and repair expenses.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; manage replacement and upgrades as necessary.
- Provide leadership, training, and development for team members, including production supervisors.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Promote and enforce shop floor organization and cleanliness (5S).
- Support and enforce a safe work environment; proactively resolve and report safety issues.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene standards; address and escalate any hygiene issues as needed.
- Actively participate in and support food safety and SQF certification programs including HACCP teams and
- third-party/customer audits.
- Must maintain flexibility in schedule to interact with all shifts including weekday nights and weekends.
- Continuously seek and implement improvements in efficiency, safety, quality, and hygiene.
