Job description
Eaton Community bank is looking for a professional, customer service-oriented individual to fill the role of Customer Service Representative in our Charlotte Branch.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing great customer experiences and maintaining strong and profitable banking relationships with our customers by identifying customers’ needs and recommending Eaton Community Bank’s products to fill those needs. In addition, you will be responsible for establishing accounts, updating existing accounts and assisting the Tellers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Communicates with deposit customers and prospective deposit customers to determine financial services needs and inform them of Bank products that fulfill those needs.
- Establish new accounts in an efficient manner, explaining all account terms, completing all necessary documentation, and following all established procedures.
- Update existing accounts to reflect changes such as ownership changes, changes of address or contact information.
- Maintains a high level of knowledge about all Bank products and services.
- Identifies additional bank products and services which may suit customers and either provides those products and services or refers customers to other areas of the Bank as appropriate.
- Provides customer service in a friendly, efficient manner.
- Keeps “Customer Due Diligence” records and provides timely follow up for required documentation.
- Phones customers with maturing CD’s.
- Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.
- Can perform most complex transactions independently.
- Accepts consumer loan applications in an efficient manner, explaining all terms, completing all necessary documentation, and following all established procedures. Based on Branch needs.
- Provides account opening training to Tellers and assists in Teller training. (New Teller, products/services, and various other trainings.)
- Handles complex customer transactions and issues.
- Assists tellers when needed.
- Performs Notary Services.
- Assists in Branch duties such as opening, closing, ATM balancing and cash vault duties.
Desired Education, Training, and/or Experience
- Associates degree in a business curriculum desired.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial institution or equivalent, preferably in a retail banking position.
Technical Skills Needed
- Knowledge and experience with operating a computer, and other general office equipment.
- Excellent social and communication skills:
- High quality writing skills, using accurate word usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written correspondence.
- Use of professional phone etiquette, including tone and volume of voice.
- Ability to successfully promote the Bank using consultative sales.
- Organized and efficient.
- Uses time management skills and is able to meet deadlines.
- Motivated and self-starter.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a changing environment, maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and written instructions, as well as verbal instructions or directions from his/her supervisor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to get along well with coworkers and to work as part of Eaton Community’s team, working towards the Bank’s goals set forth by its’ Board of Directors.
