What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Lead Analyst- Program Finance to join our team. This position is based at our Beachwood, OH location, candidates must be located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH; Galesburg MI or Southfield MI to be considered. Hybrid work schedule available.
Position Overview:
The primary function of the Lead Financial Analyst role is to act as a business partner to the US Corporate Innovation Center engineering team. The role supports all program finance activities including project planning, forecasting, accounting, reviews, and compliance support. The Lead Financial Analyst works collaboratively with global business leads to complete the month-end closing, coordinate the monthly forecast, and develop the annual profit plan for Eaton Research Lab (ERL).

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the global engineering teams by developing global project based spending reports that include engineering time, labor, material, services, and revenue. Works collaboratively with global technology directors and the program management function to plan and forecast the global project portfolio.
  • Oversees the Vision project accounting system to ensure that all project costs are properly recorded and reconciled to the general ledger
  • Coordinates the monthly forecast and annual profit plan by preparing department budgets, reviewing budgets for consistency and completion, analyzing spending trends, tracking headcounts, calculating allocations, completing reporting, and preparing presentations for both US and global sites.
  • Works collaboratively with Contracts, Program Management and Principal Investigators to ensure that government revenue is properly recorded, forecasted and planned per contract specifications. Ensures revenue is recognized and reconciled per Eaton financial policies.
  • Represents the finance function in program reviews to ensure that financials are accurately prepared, audited and reviewed.
  • Ensures that program financials are properly recorded in ProPM and tied out to the financial systems.
  • Coordinates intercompany billings to Eaton divisions for funding on project work. Records and recognizes intercompany transactions from Eaton divisions on work performed on behalf of ERL
  • Coordinates the transfer pricing transactions between the regions and tax department based on intellectual property ownership. Ensures regions are properly recording and invoicing global engineering spending.
  • Analyzes key performance drivers to investigate spending variances. Performs root cause analysis to resolve problems. Interprets financial results and communicates opportunities for improvement to budget leads
  • Works in a team environment to drive improvement in financial processes through tools/systems, automation, and standardization. Cross-train with other analysts to build skills and experience across the division finance team.


Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH; Galesburg, MI or Southfield MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future


Skills:

Position Criteria:
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and other Eaton accounting policies and procedures
  • Must have attention to detail and sound analytical skills, ability to interpret/communicate financial information.
  • Must be able to see detail and big picture so that resulting communications and reports describe key risks and drivers as well as details and are prepared and presented in a manner consistent with previously reported data.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, must be able to work closely with all levels of management.
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial colleagues to drive business partnering relationship at multiple levels of the organization
  • Business process improvement focus required to drive deployment of world class processes
  • Excellent professional written and oral communication skills
  • Must work well under pressure and be good at meeting deadlines.
