Summary

CRTEC Early College Duties:
- Serve as the primary administrator for Eaton RESA CTE Early College programs and related activities.
- Ensure that Early College programs are rigorous, relevant, technologically advanced and effective in promoting student achievement and preparing students for future employment, training, and/or higher education.
- Provide oversight, coordination and implementation of the Capital Region Technical Early College including post-secondary partnerships, program development, enrollment, recruitment, and scheduling.
- Develop, implement and manage assigned budgets and purchasing procedures for CRTEC
- Provide technical assistance, leadership and coordination for Early College programs to meet state and/or federal guidelines/requirements.
- Plans, develops, implements professional development activities and Early College initiatives, programs, services and events which are in alignment with the goals and strategies of the district’s strategic plan and the Eaton RESA CTE Advisory Committee.
- Lead the evaluation and improvement of Early College programs and services operated by Eaton RESA.
- Identify, collect and maintain records, documents, data and information related to operation of Early College programs, including, but not limited to, student enrollment, student discipline, certifications, student attendance and grades as required or requested.
- Coordinate support services for special education/504 and related populations of Early College students.
- Communicate and coordinate with LEA academic counseling staff regarding Early College student schedules and grades/attendance status ensuring program and student success.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Serve as the administrator for assigned CPC programs, related activities, field trips, student organizations, and competitions.
- Ensure that assigned CPC programs are rigorous, relevant, technologically advanced and effective in promoting student achievement and preparing students for future employment, training, and/or higher education.
- Supervise and provide support for assigned CTE staff. Manage and implement the staff performance evaluation system in conjunction with the Assistant Superintendent for CTE and the Director/Principal of the CPC.
- Monitor and manage student attendance, grades and discipline of assigned CPC students by following-up with students, parents/guardians, staff and instructors as necessary.
- Maintain data and records necessary for TRAC (Technical Review Assistance and Compliance) audit as required by MDE Office of Career and Technical Education.
- Assist instructors with maintaining TRAC folders and annual uploading to GEMS CIP Self-Review for each technical program.
- Provide support and leadership to assigned CTE staff with implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to assist all students in attaining college and career readiness outcomes.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with stakeholders across CTE Region 14, local districts, program partners as well as business/industry partners.
- Provide leadership for the integration of CTE with programs and services available through Eaton RESA’s general and special education departments.
- Provide support for program Advisory Committee activities and meetings.
- Provide backup support and/or substitute coverage for the Assistant Superintendent for CTE and/or CTE Director/Principal – CPC as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (If Applicable):
Required:
- Possess current Michigan Administrator Certification or are enrolled in a program leading to certification as a school administrator.
- Possess a Michigan Teacher Certificate with a Standard or Professional CTE Certificate.
- Meets approval criteria or has current approval as a local CTE Administrator based on requirements established by the Michigan Department of Education and Office of Career and Technical Education.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Possession of a master’s degree in educational leadership, educational administration, or related area.
- Three (3) years or more experience in administering and/or teaching in CTE programs at the secondary level.
- Master’s degree in administration, supervision, education or other CTE related area.
- Three (3) years or more experience as a high school assistant principal or principal.
- Advanced knowledge of CTE programs and services.
- Advanced knowledge of state and federal mandates that impact secondary education, career/technical education, higher education and workforce development.
- Knowledge of research- and evidence-based practices within CTE programs, college and career readiness, and services/initiatives.
- Knowledge of the application of an MTSS framework and the continuum of behavioral and academic supports needed at the secondary level to support student learning and engagement.
- Skill with supervisory functions such as resource deployment, budget development/management, data-driven decision making, problem-solving, coaching, and conflict management.
- Skill with grading, database and reporting systems necessary to record, track and analyze student performance in instructional programs.
- Ability to interpret and implement district policies and procedures to address state and federal mandates.
- Ability to effectively manage projects, take initiative, exercise independent judgment and work collaboratively within varied team compositions and across stakeholder groups as a leader or team member.
- Ability to collect and use data within a strategic planning and continuous improvement process to inform and adjust CTE programs/services.
- Ability to use interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and gain the cooperation of others internally and externally.
- Ability to use facilitation skills to manage change and anticipate future needs with constituents.
