Position Summary: The Staff Accountant position is responsible for reconciling the following: the bank accounts, designated trial balance accounts, monthly pharmacy billing system reports, monthly dental billing system reports; for cross training in other positions, perform all bookkeeping duties for the for-profit entity Cooperative Conference Center, LLC (CCC) and the for-profit section of the Cooperative Health Centers’ Retail Pharmacy, and other duties as requested.
Principles Responsibilities:
- Reconcile the Center’s bank accounts monthly
- Reconcile the pharmacy and dental revenue reports monthly
- Crosstrain in other roles within accounting
- Collects and analyzes account information by reconciling financial discrepancies
- Protects operations by assuring that financial data is kept confidential
- Perform monthly analysis and reconciliation of designated balance sheet accounts
- Detail preparation for annual audit
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Generate high quality and quantity output in performing the duties of the position
- Demonstrate problem solving skills
- Consistently meet deadlines as set forth by the Controller and Senior Accountant
- Adhere to all policies and procedures to include limiting distractions that may hinder work performance and productivity
- Ensure Month-End-Close Deadlines are met
- Provide full support to supervisors and accountants
- Attend departmental / Center-wide meetings as required
- Process GL Journal Entries and assist AP, AR and Payroll
- Assist with day to day, monthly and year end operations of the Finance Department
- Analyzes complex financial data and extracts and defines relevant information
- Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Qualifying experience must include at least three (3) years’ experience in accounting preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written forms.
- Must display professional attitude and maintain professional appearance.
- Must be dependable, honest, and forthcoming with changes that will improve Cooperative Health’s financial reporting goals.
- Must possess above average verbal and writing skills.
- Must be able to follow detailed written and oral instructions
