Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Category: Full-time
Monday, 9 am to 5 pm,
Tuesday – Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm,
Friday, 8 am to 12 pm
Supervised by: Controller
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will support financial recordkeeping, maintain and reconcile accounts, manage expense
reports, and ensure GAAP compliance for Right Direction Church International. This role requires a detail-oriented
individual with strong communication skills, a foundational knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to adapt to new systems and work in a faith-based environment.
Major Duties:
- Financial recordkeeping: Maintaining and reconciling accounts, general ledgers, and accounts payable files
- Expense Reports: Reviewing and working with cardholders concerning expense reports.
- Compliance: Ensuring that all financial records and accounting tasks comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Other duties may be assigned related to special projects or tasks within the Finance Department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a two-year accounting or finance associate degree. Hands-on, independent accounting
- experience of five years or more would be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must have a firm foundation of basic accounting principles.
- Must be able to learn new computer programs with instruction.
- Physical requirements may include sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
- Must have great attention to detail and follow policies and procedures.
- Must have good communication skills both written and oral.
- Must be proficient with Excel.
