POSITION SUMMARY
The Seasonal Park Attendant oversees the public's use of the County parks and recreational areas. Collects appropriate fees and performs necessary maintenance tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Maintains good public relations with campers and the general public
- Supervises clubhouse and shelter reservations and activities to assist the public and ensure that facilities are used in a safe and appropriate manner
- Collects fees for overnight camping and shelter reservations
- Oversees campers and park visitors and enforces all parks and forest ordinances
- Performs janitorial functions in buildings
- Performs maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment
- Performs other duties in park and forest areas as required or assigned
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXEPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of criminal background check
- Must possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Operator's license and acceptable driving record
- Reliable transportation is required for reporting to the Parks and Forest headquarters at either Lake Eau Claire Park, Coon Fork Lake Park, Big Falls Park, or Lake Altoona County Park
DESIRED TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supervising the operations of a public or private park or recreational facility with direct public contact
- Experience in public relations, customer service, or retail sales experience involved in handling customer complaints
