The Mental Health Professional serves as one of multiple lead members of the multi-disciplinary case management and psychosocial rehabilitation treatment team serving voluntary clients fitting the criteria for admission into the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Program, Wisconsin Administrative Code DHS 36. This position provides clinical oversight coordination, supervision, and ongoing program development around the CCS Program.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Interprets and administers federal, state, and county laws, rules, regulations, and standards governing the CCS Programs; develops and implements procedures related to CCS ensuring compliance with Department of Human Services (DHS) and other applicable state and federal regulations.Conducts brief, focused assessments to make rapid decisions on an individual’s treatment needs; conducts pre-admit triage in cases where there is clinical guidance needed to determine program eligibility/appropriateness. Demonstrates motivational leadership to support staff; provides for the orientation, training, and motivation of staff members; offers clinical guidance regarding crisis intervention contacts, assessment, treatment planning, and case plan implementation for clients; advises workers in gathering facts, appraising and evaluating needs, formulating and implementing viable solutions; provides assistance as required to achieve recovery.Performs a clinical role in case management and recovery services implementing concepts of the mental health and substance use disorder recovery model; participates on CCS recovery teams; assists staff in recovery plan design; involves and directs other program personnel in case management and therapeutic interventions.Identifies full range of client needs through thorough investigation and assessment; differentiates between medical, psychological, vocational, social, familial, daily living spheres, and substance use disorders.Adheres to strict record-keeping and reporting guidelines and laws; documents client contacts and services; maintains client files and client specific data for reporting purposes; prepares other records and reports, as necessary.Chairs clinical supervision meeting and documents clinical supervision activities. Provides crisis intervention assessments and short-term follow-up for individuals with situational or long-term mental health issues, substance use disorders or the co-existence of both conditions; develops or assists in development of crisis intervention plans.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external partners; ensures consumers receive quality services through community providers; provides intentional outreach, follow-up, and advocacy for clients within the community.Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Paid social work experience in a Comprehensive Community Services Program.Professional work experience in supervision or lead position.Professional accomplishments such as: membership in professional organizations, conducting research, grant writing, conducting workshops, or providing professional presentations.Demonstrated community involvement such as board memberships and service clubs.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in consumer empowerment, evidence based best practices, recovery, and person-centered planning principles. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals across the life span.
