PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Lean Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall product quality. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and ensure that lean methodologies are effectively integrated into daily manufacturing operations. Conduct in-depth analyses of the production processes to identify areas for improvement. Need to provide training to employees on lean principles and work with suppliers, EEE manufacturing and all areas of EEE to ensure they meet customer quality standards. Identify and eliminate waste in production, such as overproduction, unnecessary inventory, and non-value-added processes. By implementing lean manufacturing principles, need to reduce scrap, rework, reduce lead times, and minimize production costs.

BACKGROUND And EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing or mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement role in manufacturing industries including automotive, aerospace, nuclear or energy.
- Proven experience leading lean initiatives and projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, VSM, Kanban, JIT).
- Proficient, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP, MES) is a plus.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas and recommendations clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Possess leadership abilities and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Lean Process Implementation: Lead the development and implementation of lean manufacturing strategies such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kanban, and Just-In-Time (JIT) practices.
- Waste Reduction: Identify opportunities to reduce waste (time, materials, labor) and increase productivity by analyzing current processes and recommending improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance within the manufacturing environment.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and cost, and use data to identify areas for improvement.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement standardized work instructions and best practices to enhance efficiency and eliminate process variations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments (e.g., production, quality, engineering, supply chain) to align lean initiatives with broader organizational goals.
- Training and Mentorship: Educate and mentor team members on lean manufacturing principles and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
- Problem Solving: Apply problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to address production challenges and implement corrective actions.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects focused on improving operational efficiency, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- May require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
