Job Summary :
The Production Engineer’s primary responsibility is to manage the preparation and complete production packages including bills of material, shop operations, manufacturing drawings from applications to production. Production Engineering is also expected to support sales, provide cost estimates, initiate engineering drawing revisions, oversee equipment testing, and some design customization.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Preparation of design calculations and engineering detail drawings (ie. design and production) either manually or on a computerized drafting and design system.
- Accurate entry of new part numbers and shop operations.
- Preparation and / or revision of general assembly and production drawings, bills of material and technical manuals.
- Costing and preliminary design layouts for field sales.
- Maintaining drawing libraries.
- Provide guidance and direction to purchasing materials and subcontractor selection.
- Providing technical support to shop personnel.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value
- Attend meetings and update others on issues or concerns, when there is a risk which could prevent the organization meeting customer demands or where there are over capability concerns.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Other duties as specified by the Production Engineering Manager. Requirements :
