Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our team as the Director of Cost of Payments & Platform Strategy & Insights. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead cross-functional projects focused on Payments Platform Operations and Cost of Payments Optimization across eBay's payment methods, acquirers, and the broader payments ecosystem. Your analytical expertise and deep understanding of payments will position you as the key liaison between Strategy, Finance, Partnerships, and other cross-functional teams. You will have the opportunity to influence eBay’s payments platform, shape the cost of payments strategy, and drive the strategic direction of financial services globally at eBay.

What You Will Accomplish

• Strategy Development: Craft and implement strategies for the payments platform and cost optimization to enhance eBay’s market differentiation.
• Thought Leadership: Provide expert insights and develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges. Offer comprehensive knowledge in payments economics and market propositions to support solution and product teams.
• Business Insights: Apply market knowledge and analytical skills to identify, prioritize, and solve exciting business problems through data-driven insights.
• Market and Competitive Analysis: Generate market intelligence on industry trends, including technology, competitors, and regulatory changes, and advise on their strategic implications.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a dynamic strategy, operations, and insights team to deliver critical initiatives effectively.
• Communication: Develop compelling executive level presentations and deliver them to senior leadership, clearly articulating strategic recommendations.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to the long-term strategy for payments and financial services, ensuring alignment with product and service offerings and capabilities.

Experience And Education

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including 2-3 years at a top strategy consulting or financial services firm.
• Expertise in technology, particularly in e-commerce, payments, cost of payments, and/or FinTech.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  
  
  

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$176,800 - $282,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
