What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Minister position at Ebenezer Methodist Church - Milton, GA?
The Executive Minister is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the church, from overseeing the care and maintenance of all church property, to making sure all processes and procedures are followed. As a key leader in the church, and responsible for supporting its mission and vision, the Executive Minister must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ. And, as with all staff members of Ebenezer, the Executive Minister must be an excellent communicator, timely and responsive.
The Executive Minister, who works directly under the Senior Pastor, is responsible for training and managing all people involved in the physical assets and property of the church, as well as overseeing the church’s budget and finances.
The best candidates would have experience in managing physical assets as well as multiple employees and/or contracted services.
Responsibilities:
Support and execute the mission of the church and vision of the Senior Pastor. Reflect the character of Jesus Christ, always being respectful and patient with Ebenezer staff, church members, volunteers and visitors.
Direct oversight in these areas and any staff:
· Audio-Visual
· Kitchen operations
· Budget and Finance
· Landscaping
· Heating and A/C
· Janitorial duties
· Plumbing and Electricity
· Human Resources
As the church grows, responsibilities may change as needs develop. Some needs may be met by outsourcing but will remain under the direction of the Executive Minister, who will also manage vendor and service provider contracts and invoicing.
Qualifications:
· experience leading organizations by creating systems and processes to help reach their goals
· excellent communicator
· demeanor conducive to supervising staff to maximize ministry effectiveness
· ability to facilitate strategic planning, and foster a team environment, that is aligned with church’s mission and the Senior Pastor’s vision.
· experience in HR (including onboarding, payroll, benefits, background checks, and insurance)
· willingness and ability to work with church leadership (Church Council, Trustees, Finance, SPRC) to ensure correct fit and compliance with Governance Policies.
Additional Requirements:
· Successful completion of a background check and any other screenings required by the church
Compensation:
· Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
