What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Mechanical Engineer position at ECC?
Seeking Intern – Mechanical Engineer degree program candidates to work with our highly skilled Design Managers on large scale design-build construction documents. Position is in our San Antonio, TX office. Projects are generally large-scale construction projects for Dept of Defense clients. You must be able to pass a background check and obtain a base pass. Mechanical Engineer degree candidates in their junior or senior year are highly desired. Candidates interested in an internship and potential future employment with ECC should have a desire to work for a construction contractor (verses Engineering company). Local candidates desired, but not required.
In this position, you will:
- Work with field and office engineers onsite, performing surveying, drawing and submittal reviews, and as-built construction reviews/checks in the field.
- Be embedded with the Quality and Safety Teams to review quality and safety requirements, perform inspections and generate reports.
- Under close supervision and following specific instructions, performs basic duties in support of the department
- May be assigned to complete special projects
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements
- Ability to communicate in written and verbal formats
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Education: This position requires a high school diploma and must be currently enrolled as a second, third or fourth year student in an accredited university working towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior construction project internship experience helpful, but not required
Targeting $22.00 -$25 per hour.
