Mechanical Engineer Intern - Summer 2025 (TXWORKS)

Summary:

If you are looking to gain real-world experience in the field of mechanical engineering, we have an exciting opportunity at Frozen Beverage Dispensers. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced engineers and gain practical experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems, contributing to the success and growth of our organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
• Perform analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine design concepts and ensure manufacturability.
• Create detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the development and testing phase.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve product quality and performance.
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and concepts.
• Completion of Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics (1&2) and Heat Transfer courses preferred.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
• Strong organizational, attention to detail, problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test.

Physical Demands:

• Required to sit, type, have eye/hand/foot coordination, occasionally stand, and walk.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• This position works in a typical office and manufacturing environment.
• Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
• Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

This internship position is part of the TXWORKS - Student program. Interested applicants will complete the Student Eligibility Form to get started. TXWORKS-eligible students participating in TXWORKS internships earn a minimum of $20 per hour for at least 8 weeks / 96 hours for internship opportunities. TXWORKS student participants submit their letter of eligibility with the record ID and their college transcript (official or unofficial) with their internship application.
