Position Overview:
We are looking for an IT Help Desk Technician to join our team! In this role, you will provide essential first-level technical support to our clients and internal staff, helping them resolve a wide variety of IT issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT support, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Provide essential technical support to users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues
- Administer user IDs, passwords, and access privileges for various systems
- Coordinate equipment orders and manage service calls for maintenance and repairs
- Follow established maintenance protocols to ensure systems remain secure and operational
- Answer phone inquiries, respond to tickets and alerts, and assist with escalated issues when necessary
- Administer help desk software and track all requests, ensuring timely resolution
- Assist with various IT-related tasks as assigned by the team
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field
- ITIL Certification preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory for user management, including password resets and account administration
- Experience with imaging PCs/Laptops and basic networking (LAN)
- Knowledge of printer/fax troubleshooting, maintenance, and support
- Strong skills in laptop/desktop hardware support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and troubleshooting skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with users and clients
- Familiarity with help desk/ticketing systems, mobile device troubleshooting, and antivirus software
- Experience configuring email clients (Outlook, mobile phone email setup, etc.)
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to travel within the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs (reliable transportation required)
