Join Our Payer Strategy and Contracting (PSC) Division

Our PSC Division guides clients through payer strategy development, reimbursement analysis and design, contract negotiations, and other strategic and operational issues affecting commercial and government revenue streams. As part of our team, you'll help our clients optimize their managed care contract portfolios and develop successful value-based reimbursement strategies.

PSC engagements include work with inpatient, outpatient, professional, behavioral health, post-acute, and ancillary providers, as well as payers. We assist clients primarily in the three areas below.

Contracting and Reimbursement

Our Contracting and Reimbursement practice is an industry leader in healthcare payment reform and accountable care strategies for large, complex healthcare organizations, including major health systems and provider-owned health plans. We help our clients :

Develop innovative payment approaches.
Negotiate contracts.
Devise reimbursement strategies.
Improve revenues.

Value- and Risk-Based Payment Programs

We offer our clients comprehensive value- and risk-based payment program development services, including planning, implementing, and optimizing value-enhancing care models. Common projects include :

Value-based readiness assessments and payment design.

Care model and reimbursement strategy.

Medicare Shared Savings Program, Accountable Care Organization (ACO) REACH, or commercial ACO development.

Clinically integrated or regional affiliate network development.

Assistance with Medicaid managed care program participation.

Patient-centered medical home transformation.

Population health service organization establishment.

Support for participation in grant-funded or governmental programs.

Payer Services

Our Payer Services practice advises traditional and provider-owned insurance companies in areas such as :

Commercial insurance.

Medicare Advantage.

Medicaid managed care.

Third-party administrator services.

Provider network performance.

Your Responsibilities May Include

Actively managing a portfolio of client engagements and consulting staff, assuring all contractual targets and deliverables are met

Working with the client to articulate complex issues requiring attention and strategizing with consultant teams on project approach

Overseeing the design, development, and implementation of solutions to drive long-lasting success for the client

Managing a high-performing cadre of professionals and building and developing a team of consulting leaders to sustain lasting relationships in the industry

Collaborating in the continued growth and development of the PSC Division

Marketing and selling $1.5 million in annual consulting revenue

Playing an integral role in the recruitment and development of staff consultants

Serving as a thought leader on a national stage

Being a leader in the firm and contributing to the firm's culture and success

Participating in firm and PSC Division management

Requirements

Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a growing elite-level consulting firm

Strong knowledge of and passion for the provider healthcare sector

Progressive leadership experience in management consulting, providing managed care contracting and reimbursement strategy to healthcare providers; consideration will also be given to years of experience as a senior executive of provider or payer organizations combined with consulting experience

Experience in strategy development in the provider environment

Demonstrated record of solving complex problems, directing and managing individuals, and completing challenging projects

Track record of managing multiple engagements, including work plans, deliverables, budgets and schedules, and accounts receivable

Demonstrated record of achievement in selling and managing engagements

Viewed as a thought leader through marketing activities such as networking with potential clients, participating in professional societies, and publishing and presenting thought leadership (whitepapers, speeches, and articles)

Demonstrated focus on staff development, coaching, and retention, with a refined ability to provide constructive and timely feedback

Master's degree in business administration and / or a health-related field; bachelor's degree in business or a health-related field preferred

Strong written and verbal presentation skills

Ability to travel at least 60% of the time

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain deep client relationships

Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, San Diego, or Washington DC

Candidates will be required to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days in office when not traveling for a client engagement.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $255,000 - $283,500 annually. It represents a good faith estimate of the range that ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes. This job is eligible to participate in ECG's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects ECG's pay-for-performance philosophy. The job is also eligible to participate in ECG's benefit plans, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) matching program; unlimited PTO; and other wellness programs.
