About the Role:
The Crisis Worker in Emergency Services at ECHN plays a vital part in providing behavioral health interventions in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role involves crisis triage, assessment, case management, and collaboration with community resources to ensure appropriate care for patients. To excel in this position, you will need a Master's degree in a Behavioral Health field and strong clinical skills to handle diverse populations and emergency situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides direct and indirect clinical services to patients requiring behavioral health intervention presenting in the Manchester and Rockville General Hospital Emergency Departments
- Assesses and treats patients in a timely manner while reviewing all pertinent clinical information and contacting appropriate clinical providers
- Serves as a behavioral health resource to emergency department staff, patients, families, and community resources
- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to meet the department's needs for scheduling and coverage for the two Emergency Departments
- Exercises good judgment in seeking help or acting independently
Requirements:
- Master's Degree and licensure in a Behavioral Health field (LCSW, APRN, or PhD equivalent)
- Certification in CPI de-escalation techniques within 6 months of hire and maintenance of active certification
- Strong clinical skills, including crisis triage and assessment, individual and family intervention, case management, community collaboration, patient/family education, insurance verification, and treatment planning
- Knowledge of psychiatric and risk assessment, abuse and neglect reporting mandates, duty to warn mandates, and community-based resources
