The Nursing Clinical Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of nurses, ensuring high-quality patient care, and promoting staff development in an acute care setting. This role involves evaluating patient care strategies, managing staff performance, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes. The Clinical Coordinator also serves as a mentor to new nursing staff and supports the advancement of evidence-based nursing practices.
This position requires excellent leadership skills, comfort with supervising nursing teams, and ability to establish effective relationships with physicians and staff in multiple departments. The successful candidate will be able to partner with the Nurse Manager on staffing, budgeting, and providing for staff educational needs while demonstrating service excellence and being a role model for staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Nurse Manager in operational activities of the patient care unit
- Evaluate patient care strategies and manage staff performance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes
- Mentor new nursing staff and support evidence-based nursing practices
- Participate in staffing and scheduling function to ensure adequate nursing resources
- Facilitate efficient patient flow through collaboration with MDs, clinical team, and Patient Flow Facilitator
- Support and advance Service Excellence strategies on the unit
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or actively matriculating for a BSN required
- Current RN licensure in State of Connecticut
- Three to five years of acute care experience required
- Charge nurse/leadership experience desired
