Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at ECHN. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide evaluations and treatments to patients with communication disorders.
About the Role:
- Evaluate patients based on departmental standards.
- Conduct and modify evaluations based on patient symptoms, level of activity, and medical status.
- Treat patients with evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Administer physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to attain established goals.
- Utilize effective techniques to assist in normalizing speech and language activity.
- Educate patients/families in home exercise programs and functional activities.
- Determine when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommend discharge if appropriate.
- Document patient care according to insurance guidelines and adhere to departmental policies.
- Foster interdepartmental communication and communicate with referring physicians regarding patient care.
- Accurately fill out and submit charges daily.
- Adhere to professional codes of ethics established by ASHA and the facility.
- Perform duties with proper body mechanics and safety precautions.
- Supervise affiliated students and participate in continuing education courses to improve treatment techniques.

Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
- Holds current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic personal computer skills in Windows-based programs.
- Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel between work sites.
