As the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in stewarding our church's financial resources to support our mission of transforming lives with the message of Jesus. Your expertise will ensure our strong financial foundation, enabling us to expand our reach and deepen our impact in the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with our church's vision
- Provide insightful financial analysis and forecasting to guide leadership decisions
- Oversee budgeting processes, ensuring resources are allocated to maximize ministry effectiveness
Stewardship and Generosity
Work with our Generosity Director to create strategies that foster faithful giving and financial stewardship and diversified revenue streamsFinancial Management and Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to church leadership and boardsManage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships to optimize financial performanceImplement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policiesCompliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirementsManage the annual audit process and maintain relationships with external auditorsIdentify and mitigate financial risks to protect the church's assets and reputationQualifications
Strong faith commitment aligned with our church's values and missionBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred5 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in a non-profit or religious organizationExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts to non-financial audiencesAbility to lead and equip staff and volunteers to serve enthusiasticallyYou will manage a team that consists of the following :
External Financial AccountantDirector of Stewardship and DiscipleshipFinance Manager / ControllerFacilities DirectorVarious volunteer teamsOptional Housing Allowance
The director is eligible for housing allowance if they agree to meet the basic requirements of a minister at the church. Echo.Church ministerial duties of all commissioned, licensed, and ordained ministers include :
Praying and giving spiritual advice to othersLeading others to worship by helping them serve with their giftsTeaching and leading Life GroupsSharing the Gospel message with clarityTeaching, instructing, or organizing religious initiativesPerforming baptisms, serving communion, performing wedding ceremonies and funerals.Full Time / Exempt
