What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veteran Employment Specialist position at ECHO Housing Corporation?
Provide employment-centric case management to all HVRP participants (Veterans) with the goal of achieving and maintaining gainful employment for the maximum number of program participants. Monitor participant progress, services and goals and corresponding documentation. Conduct outreach activities as directed by Program Coordinator. Provide a range of employment training and supportive services in accordance with HVRP program guidelines. Create and maintain participant IEP’s, updating and evaluating goals and progress on a recurring basis. Provide follow-up services and documentation on participants who have exited the program but are still in need of services. Provides direct referrals for participants to community resources for assistance with job placement, debt counseling, legal aid, housing, medical treatment, or financial assistance. Actively collaborate with community employers to identify job opportunities that can be committed for employment placements from HVRP. Develop and maintain new and existing employer relationships by understanding hiring needs and trends. Provide resources to employers regarding tax incentives, accommodations, and applicable hiring laws when pertinent. Engage in business development activities on a regular basis including active participation in internal and external job placement professional groups, networking events and advisory groups as assigned. Coordinate, refer and support education or industry training needs on behalf of employment partners. Participate in all regional hiring events.
